Three ways to know if he/she is the one

When I was single, I had 3 private keys that I developed from God’s Word for myself, in my search for a life partner. I have decided to share these 3 keys on FaceBook today.

Key 1: What he/she says

The first key is what he or she says. Please run through the article I published last week on FaceBook about how to avoid dating frauds. In the second key, I stressed the importance of developing a conviction on your future marriage based on the Word of God. Now that you have a conviction, you want to team up with a person who shares the same core values with you. This is called agreement.

Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Your agreement starts with your thoughts. Thoughts are mostly expressed through words in conversations in everyday life as situations present themselves. So the thoughts of a person about a certain subject will most times be expressed through the words that they speak as situations present themselves.

Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

Matthew 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

When you meet people, before you become too friendly with them and start forming emotional attachments with them, listen to them speak first. You need to be sure that their words convey their inner thoughts that show that they are in agreement with you.

This is not an overnight process. It takes time to know people and the kind of thoughts that have formed their mentality and disposition towards many things in life.

If you see a family that will place top priority on kids education, you don’t want to team up with a person who believes that top priority should be summer holidays. Nothing wrong with other people’s choices but you are definitely not in agreement about core areas.

Key 2: What he/she does

The second key is what he or she does. This key is closely linked to Key 1. However, I have decided to give it a separate treatment because of it’s high importance.

There are people in life who could deliberately say things to you that they know you want to hear so they can con you into a sham relationship.  These people train themselves not to give away their real intentions by watching what they say.

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:….

The thoughts of a person eventually define what he or she expresses in real life whether or not they conceal their verbal expression of those thoughts.

So, in addition to what people say to you, you need to observe their actions and body language. A fellow once posed to a sister as a God fearing person and even went on to say that he was not interested in a sex filled courtship or relationship before marriage. This appeared to have settled the sister that she was in a safe relationship. A few weeks later, he started making moves to con her into awkward private places where he could initiate sexual activity. So his actions did not match his words. A lady also posed to be in a Godly relationship with a brother. One day, her phone fell out and the brother picked it up only to discover photos of her making out with other women. So her actions did not match her words.

This, also is not an overnight process but you need to rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Key 3: What God says

The final key is what God says. This key is a very crucial and important one. Your chances of being scammed come very close to zero if you commit NEVER to go into a relationship till you hear from God.

Even with the first 2 keys at work, you must depend on the guidance of the Spirit of the Lord coming through your spirit to make the right decision.

Proverbs 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

Our human spirits are the candles that God uses in shining light unto our paths so we can see the way ahead very clearly in life.

Many look at the external trappings and do not see beyond the surface. The Spirit of God sees everything we cannot see about people. If you cultivate a habit of praying in tongues for extended periods, your spirit will more easily pick things that your physical senses are naturally unaware of.

Papa Kenneth Hagin said he used to pray in tongues for an average of 6 hours a day and he would see many things in the spirit before they had the chance to break into the physical. You can get yourself a copy of “How you can be led by the Spirit of God” to learn more about this or jump on YouTube to watch his teaching videos.

Isaiah 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Conclusion

I pray these 3 keys bless you as you use them. Have a great week.
