This Sunday, we want to look at 3 powerful steps that will help any spirit-filled and tongue-talking believer to beat masturbation and other secret sexual addictions.

Please note that these are guaranteed to work only for people who are born again and filled with the Spirit. If you are born again and you have not yet received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, please go over to a church that believes in it to help you receive it.

Forsaking Evil Associations

Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived:evil communications corrupt good manners.

It matters who you hang out with. If you want to be free from any habit, you MUST forsake the people you practice them with and drop out of their circle IMMEDIATELY. You may not be practising yours with real people, and you are subscribed to porn channels where you get your ideas from. You also need to forsake such virtual associations and shut them out of your life completely. I don’t have any friend who feeds on porn or engages in extra-marital sex so I cannot be influenced into such a behaviour.  Friendship with you is based on the alignment of our core values. If our core values don’t align then we cannot be close no matter how nice you are. Your forsaking such associations is initial proof that you are ready for deliverance from such habits.

The Word of God

Ps 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Ps 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

This is the most important step. The only authentic way to root sin out of your thoughts is by filling your mind with the Word of God. This comes at 2 levels. Level 1 is you sitting down to read, study and meditate in the scriptures. You need a personal program of feeding on the scriptures that guarantee your freedom. You need to commit them to heart, paste them on your walls etc  Level 2 is you attending a Church that believes in the transforming power of God’s Word not just a church that explains the bible away like a lifeless school textbook.

Prayer & Fasting

Pornography, masturbation, fornication and adultery are habits and sins that have their root in demonic activity. If you have battled with any of these for a very long time then you need to engage the practice of prayer and fasting along with these 1st two steps.

Matt 17: 19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

Matthew 17: 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief:for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Here we see that the disciples battled with a problem that had its root in demonic activity. Jesus gave his answers in Vs 20-21. In vs 20, He blamed their struggle on their unbelief. He then recommended the faith to them and we know that this faith is only found in the Spoken Words of God. Next, He said that this problem cannot be eliminated if prayer and fasting are not engaged. In these sort of problems, you need to engage in fasting and praying in tongues to break free in addition to feeding and obeying the Word of God.
