Welcome to Day 1 of the #SoulTies Introduction Course – What #SoulTies Are
1. Today we are looking to study what #SoulTies are and they came about.
2. We start with the fall of Adam. When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, a few things happened to them #SoulTies
3. They died spiritually which means they lost their spiritual connection with God & they died physically several years later. #SoulTies
4. How do we know that they died spiritually? Let’s read Genesis 2:17.
5. Gen 2:17a But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:… #SoulTies
6. Gen 2:17b … :for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. #SoulTies
7. God said Adam would die d very day he ate d fruit. However, he didn’t die physically that day. He died first in another way. #SoulTies
8. As a result, their minds became darkened as a result of God’s exit from their spirits & satan set up his structures there. #SoulTies
9. Eph 4:18a Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God….. #SoulTies
10. Eph 4:18b … through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: #SoulTies
11. So what we now know as the world’s system today is a product of man’s thinking that was corrupted by satan when Adam fell. #SoulTies
12. Satan, over the centuries, set up what we also call strongholds in the minds and souls of men that became belief systems. #SoulTies
13. 2 Cor 10:4: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) #SoulTies
14. 2 Corinthians 10:5: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, #SoulTies
15. 2 Corinthians 10:5: … and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ #SoulTies
16. So we see here that apart from man being spiritually severed from God by the fall, he also got his soul messed up by satan. #SoulTies
17. Man’s imaginations and thoughts, located in his mind, became messed up by satan. The mind is a part of the soul. #SoulTies
18. In addition, he also had his body infested by sickness & disease. So the fall affected man; spirit, soul & body. #SoulTies
19. It was Adam & Eve who messed up in Eden. How did or how does that affect those of us, who weren’t there in Eden. #SoulTies
20. Rom 5:12a Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, .. #SoulTies
21. Rom 5:12b … and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: #SoulTies
22. Rom 5:12 asserts that we were all deemed to have committed the same crime Adam committed and born separated from God. #SoulTies
23. So it didn’t matter what religion our parents practiced or didn’t practice, we were ALL born as SINNERS into this world. #SoulTies
24. God then put together a salvation package by sending Jesus Christ to redeem our spirits, souls & bodies from death. #SoulTies
25. Rom 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. #SoulTies
26. Just like it was Adam’s sin that infected the human race, Jesus’ obedience to the cross was intended to make us righteous. #SoulTies
27. Fast forward to salvation. The salvation Jesus brought was a total package designed to affect us spirit, soul & body. #SoulTies
28. This package was intended to recreate our spirits, save our souls & also give us brand new bodies at His second coming #SoulTies
29. However the timing of the manifestation of the package needs to be well understood and I’ll explain in next few tweets. #SoulTies
30. When we get saved, we have our spirits recreated and we became a brand new person in Christ Jesus #SoulTies
31. 2Cor 5:17: … if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new #SoulTies
32. At new birth, the spirit component of man is fully sorted according to 2Cor 5:17. What about d soul & body? I have some clues. #SoulTies
33. When you got saved, you didn’t forget your name. Hence, the born again experience didn’t change ur soul & we’ll see shortly #SoulTies
34. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world:but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, … #SoulTies
35. So we see from Rom 12:2 that after being saved, we are to renew our minds with the Word of God. Our minds didn’t get saved. #SoulTies
36. Why is it necessary for us to renew our minds with the Word of God? Why are our minds a very important part of the equation? #SoulTies
37. Pro 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… Yes you are saved, ur thinking is what generally reflects in ur life. #SoulTies
38. This explains why a saved man continues to sin. His mind hasn’t been renewed. What does it mean for ur mind to be renewed? #SoulTies
39. Renewal of mind means you have submitted your mind to God’s Word for a reprogramming of your thoughts. #SoulTies
40. Renewal of mind means that the thoughts of Egypt you practiced as a sinner have now been replaced with God’s thoughts. #SoulTies
41. When we don’t have our minds renewed after been saved, then we reflect the thoughts of the enemy that we grew up with. #SoulTies
42. Let’s go a bit deeper into what happened to our minds before we got saved. #SoulTies
43. Eph 2:2a Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, #SoulTies
44. Eph 2:2b … according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: #SoulTies
45. Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh,… #SoulTies
46. Eph 2:3 …fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. #SoulTies
47. So we see here that satan worked through his evil spirits & our associations to corrupt our minds & build structures there. #SoulTies
48. In the process, he created what we call #SoulTies. What’s a soul tie? A soul tie is a link that satan created in your soul with evil.
49. Continuing from Eph 2:3, we see that we developed behaviour patterns as we rubbed minds with fellow children of disobedience. #SoulTies
50. We cultivated various attachments to things, bad habits, etc practiced by people we rubbed minds with. #SoulTies
51. Emotional attachments that we developed as we grew up in the flesh are referred to as #SoulTies. They reside in our souls.
52. Why do #SoulTies play a significant role in our lives even after we have come into Christ? Why are they worth mentioning?
53. Way things work in our relationship with God is that He communicates with our spirit so our soul & body express His will. #SoulTies
54. When #SoulTies are in operation, they block d flow of God’s Spirit in our lives. They are relics left behind by satan to hamper us.
55. Satan is no longer in ur spirit when you got saved, but he left stuff behind in ur soul that he uses to trip you. These are #SoulTies
56. #SoulTies are an affinity u have towards a thing or a person that is both captivating & addictive. They block the will of God.
57. Heb 11:15 if they had been mindful of dat country from whence they came out,they might have had opportunity to have returned #SoulTies
58. #SoulTies are mostly things you practiced in Egypt that you want to return to while you are now born again and out of Egypt.
59. #SoulTies are also possibly bad habits you picked up with people walking in the flesh while you are now a born again Christian.
